Itinerary

H/D CITY TOUR (COLONIAL AND MODERN LIMA) A visit to the modern and colonial parts of the city of Lima the "City of Kings", starting in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. The road passes a Huaca or sacred pre-Inca site. There will then be a stop at Parque del Amor (Lovers Park) in Miraflores for its magnificent view over the Pacific Ocean. The tour also includes the Historic Centre based on the Main Square, where the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop´s Palace, the Municipality of Lima and the Cathedral are located, as well as a visit to one of the largest colonial-era convents. At scheduled time, you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the airport to take the departure flight. Suggested flight LA2041 LIM/CUZ Departure 1105 – Arrival 1240 – not include TRANSFER TO THE SACRED VALLEY At schedule time transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cusco city. Upon arrival in Cusco one of our representatives will meet you and then you will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Sacred Valley allows better acclimatization for its lower altitude compare to Cusco city. Rest of the day at leisure to rest and get use to the altitude. SACRED VALLEY TOUR (Authentic Sacred Valley) Discover the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through this route starting on the Inca's Balcony, a beautiful terrace with an impressive view of Chinchero, where twelves families still preserve their traditional costums, showing you the ancestral way in which they process the wool, and obtain those vivid colors for their textiles. Afterwards, we will get to Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. Very well known for its “andenes” (terraces dug into the slopes of mountains for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a highly effective fortress that also served as a temple. Then, we will follow to the town of Ollantaytambo, “the unique living Inca town”: the best surviving example of Inca city planning, with narrow cobblestone streets that have been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. SACRED CITY OF MACHU PICCHU You are going to visit one of the most important energy centers of the world: Machu Picchu. You will be driven to the archeological site, the visit of which will be an unforgettable experience, with a professional tour guide to impart to you all the history that surrounds this mysterious and enchanting place. Once the guided tour is over, you will have some free time to explore the site on your own, to relax, or to meditate. At the agreed upon hour, you will descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train later that afternoon for the return trip. DAY AT LEISURE IN CUSCO Enjoy the charm of this beautiful colonial city that was built upon the remains of amazing Inca buildings. Not to miss: Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), San Blas artisans neighborhood, the Cathedral and the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. You can enhance your experience by adding this optional tour for $70 per person. PM CITY TOUR, SACSAYHUAMAN, AND NEARBY ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES (SIB) You arrive in the city of Cusco and are taken to your hotel, where the rest of the morning is free time to rest and to acclimate yourself to the elevation. The afternoon is set aside for a tour of the incredible colonial city, whose buildings the Spanish constructed on top of the foundations of Incan palaces. You begin at the Korikancha, the Temple of the Sun, to witness the exquisite stone work achieved by the Incas. Next stop is the Main Square for a tour of the Cathedral to see its fabulous wood carvings and impressive altars and the lovely Church of La Compañia de Jesus (Society of Christ). Following that, you head upwards to Sacsayhuaman, a fortress located in a strategic spot high above the city with a view that is absolutely stunning. You will also visit some other archaeological complexes such as Kenko and Tambomachay, and you will have a panoramic view of Puca Pucara. At scheduled time, you will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the bus station to take the departure regular bus from Cusco to Puno. Leave the station at the start of a bus journey to Puno; en route enjoy the magnificent scenery of the valley south of Cusco. First stop is Andahuaylillas, which has a beautiful 17th Century church containing an impressive organ decorated with angels and cherubs. After that, the ruins at Racchi -also known as the "Temple of Wiracocha¿- the different zones of which were used for different purposes. After this visit, you will enjoy a typical and delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant. Then you will visit the archaeological site of Puca-Pucara, basically a military camp that also functioned as an administrative centre. Finally, you arrive at the bus station in Puno. Trip by private transport from Puno with a wonderful view of Lake Titikaka along the route (3 hours) until Copacabana (3 ½ hours), a pleasant town in the shores of Lake. Visit to its church and the famous "Virgen Morena". Trip by boat crossing the Lake to the Island of the Sun (1 hour) until Huacani to have an Aptapi (typical lunch in the highlands), this trip continues by boat up till to the ruins of Pilkokaina Inca temple Finally hike to La Estancia with a wonderful view of Lake Titicaca (1 hour approximately). Overnight in Sun Island Ecolodge La Estancia - Standard Cabin An amazing spot located in the southern part of the Island of the Sun in Lake Titicaca. It was built preserving the Andean architecture and combining with the modern comfort, always respecting the harmony of the surrounding nature and habitat. En route you will visit the two major cities of the country: Viña del Mar, Chile's main seaside town and Valparaíso, a port city founded in the sixteenth century and declared as "World Heritage Site by UNESCO." The tour also includes a scenic tour through National Congress, Parque O'Higgins, Parque Italia, Plaza de la Victoria, Plaza Sotomayor and "Muelle Prat Wharf located at the port itself in Valparaiso. Then visit the Museum of the famous Chilean poet, writer and Nobel Prize Literature winner (1971) Pablo Neruda La Sebastiana House-Museum. La Sebastiana was a fantasy place by Pablo Neruda wanted to run to and away from the hectic and busy pace of Santiago. “I feel the tiredness of Santiago. I want to find in Valparaiso a little house to live and write quietly. It must have some conditions…” This was how Pablo Neruda put it in 1959 to his friends Sara Vial and Marie Martner. The house became a reality and now houses a collections of old maps, seascapes and other paintings. There are many other relics from the port and other curios such as music boxes and an old horse carved in wood. You will visit the elevators – cable cars that take you to the peaks around Valparaiso with amazing look outs – miradores – offering views of the city. Cerro Alegre-Cerro Conception, Sotomayor Square, Naval Heroes Monument, and Paseo 21 de Mayo at Cerro Playa Ancha are just a few sites you will see. Vina del Mar, also known as "the Garden City", has 300,000 inhabitants and is the country's main beach resort. Located next to the Port of Valparaiso, it has a good selection of restaurants, a casino, cafes, discotheques and good shops. Past and present intermingle in this bustling tourist centre. Here, you will visit the "Flowers Clock", "Quinta Vergara", "Muelle Vergara" and "the casino", before your guide takes you for a drive along the coast to Reñaca Beach. At proper time you will be transferred to Airport in Santiago to take your international flight.
